Trumpeter is a small community located in the Big Lake area of northwestern Edmonton that features 122 hectares of natural habitat. Relatively new, it was first adopted as Neighbourhood One in 2008 as part of the Big Lake structural plan. It was later renamed "Trumpeter" in 2009 in honour of the species of swan of the same name. As recently as 2012 Trumpeter had a population of 160 people.
