Tawa is a residential neighborhood which is located in the Mill Woods area of Southeast Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Tawa is a much newer neighborhood to spring up out of nowhere, with most of the development occurring in the early 1990s during the population boom that the area experienced. The Grey Nuns Community Hospital is located in the neighborhood in addition to the hospital the Edmonton Police Service's South East Division Station is also located in Tawa.
Only a third of the residences in Tawa are made up of apartments. Of that thirty four percent half of those are apartment style condominiums. Another one in three residences (34%) are duplexes. The remaining homes are made up of row houses.
The average household in Tawa has 2.3 people, with two out of three households having either one or two persons.
Based on a previous city census, the average household income in Tawa is between $40,000 and $49,000 which is slightly below the city average.
