Located immediately south of the Downtown Edmonton is the neighborhood of Rossdale. This area is an older neighborhood with residential development beginning during the early years of Edmonton's history. Since then, Rossdale has seen a significant amount of redevelopment and restoration.
This river valley neighborhood is a popular residential neighborhood that offers quick and easy access to downtown, where the University of Alberta is located. the neighborhood of Rossdale has many opportunities for recreation, sports, and entertainment all nearby.
Within short driving distance is the Edmonton river valley park system, and Telus Field, which has been the home to the Edmonton Cracker-Cats of the Golden Baseball League since 2005. Just west of the neighborhood of Rossdale running along the River Valley Road is the Royal Glenora Club, Victoria Park, and the Victoria Golf Course.
The major utility company within the neighborhood of Rossdale is EPCOR that generates electricity to the surrounding areas, and also operate the Rossdale Water Treatment plant located next to the Rossdale Power Plant.
