The community of Rosenthal, located in the west of Edmonton, was created in 2009 under the Rosenthal Neighbourhood Structure Plan. It can be found within the borders of 231st Street to the west, the in-development Webber Greens Drive to the north, Winterburn Road to the east, and Whitemud Drive to the south. Rosenthal itself is young but vibrant, known largely for its distinct design that emphasizes the beauty of the natural land around which the community has been built.
One of the primary recreational amenities in Rosenthal is the open parkland area around which the housing complexes are built. The Rosenthal community is easy to access by car via two major roadways: Parkland Highway to the north and Anthony Henday Drive to the east. There are no schools in Rosenthal as of yet, but a local school is a possibility that city officials are currently exploring. Currently, the nearest schools are La Perle Elementary School, Winterburn School, and Blueberry School. La Perle Elementary boasts a student body of approximately 274 children, and the learning environment is well respected for its ability to adapt to the academic needs of each individual student. Winterburn School is a junior high (kindergarten-grade 9) with an enrolment of 549 children that seeks to develop every one of their students into successful citizens by giving them the knowledge necessary to succeed in life. Blueberry School is also a junior high that teaches 518 children, providing each student with the tools and skills they need in order to succeed.

One in particular put on by the community is the Live and Love in Rosenthal event that takes place every February. The event involves a variety of outdoor activities like horse and carriage rides and ice sculpting, along with a great selection of food and hot drinks.
