Pleasantview located in the Southwest part of Edmonton is an ideal place to go and get away from all of the pressures that everyday live tends to put on you. The neighborhood is bounded on the west by 111 Street, on the east by 104 Street/Calgary Trail, on the south by 51 Avenue and on the north by 61 Avenue.
Southgate Centre, a major shopping mall, is located immediately to the south of the neighborhood. South Edmonton Common is located a short distance to the south of the neighborhood along Calgary Trail.
Residents also enjoy good access to the University of Alberta, the University of Alberta farm, the Neil Crawford Centre, and Whyte Avenue. When construction is complete in 2010, the neighborhood will be served by the Southgate LRT station which will provide easy access to all quadrants of the city.
There is one school in the neighborhood, Mount Pleasant Elementary School, which is operated by the Edmonton Public School System.
Pleasantview has a community league that is very active in making the community a better place to live. The hall is considered by many as the hub of the community and offers rental opportunities for weddings, social functions and provides services and programs to the residents and members of the community.
