Pembina Edmonton is a modern neighborhood located in the Northwest part of Edmonton. While it a fairly new development there are several signs that it will be one of the up and coming neighborhoods in the area.
Pembina is a roughly "U" shaped neighborhood with the neighborhood of Hudson within the arms of the "U". The base of the "U" runs parallel to 137 Avenue. The west side of the neighborhood is bounded by 142 Street, and the east side by 127 Street. It is surrounded by a mixture of residential neighborhoods and industrial subdivisions. To the north is the residential neighborhood of Cumberland, to the east and north east is the residential neighborhood of Baranow, to the south east is the residential neighborhood of Kensington, and to the south is the residential neighborhood of Wellington.
Almost all residential construction (86%) in Pembina was completed in the late 1990s, with a small amount being completed earlier in the decade. The size of the average household is 3.3, with three out of five households having four to five persons.
A short distance south of the neighborhood is the shopping meca some people refer to as "North Edmonton Common". Here you will find major shopping chains such as Best Buy, Safeway, Home Sense and much, much more.
