Over looking the river is the Royal Alberta Museum and the Alberta Government House. Of course there are many historical aspects of these institutions, but there are still used today. They are in working order to hold conferences and dinners. These two institutions also have quit the history. The Royal Alberta Museum was opened by her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Surrounding this historical charm are many bed and breakfast inns that stay occupied because of the beautiful history and scenery.

Glenora is a community with both apartments and low level houses.  Plus, most of the houses have been built or updated since the 1970s.  This is truly a neighborhood designed and up kept for the typical family.  Besides, the overall family and historical ambiance of Glenora, the residential community backs it up with education.

A family has a few choices for their children's education.  There is an elementary and junior high school that is operated by the Edmonton Public School System.  However there are also two private schools.  One is a catholic school operated by the Edmonton Catholic School system, St. Vincent Catholic Elementary School.  Secondly, there is the Progressive Academy, located in the north east part of Glenora.

Like many other parts of Edmonton, Alberta, development is a key issue.  Glenora is in the process of developing there own plan to further its community development, called "Glenora Area Redevelopment Plan."  Its basic outline involves building more apartments that limit the commercial use of those apartments.  Not much can be said, since it is still in the developmental phase.  The important issue is that the community is involved in the overall development of this thriving residential area of Edmonton.

Glenora has a rich history and also keeps its progressive tendencies to further its development.  Besides these features, there is an overall natural charm to the residential community that attracts residents and tourist.  It has several different types of education, which makes it a perfect place for a family.  Let's not forget about the surrounding area of the Downtown core.  All these features make Glenora a thriving residential community if Edmonton, Alberta.
