Ekota is a neighbourhood located in southeast Edmonton. It is located in the area of Mill Woods. The meaning of Ekota is "Special Place", which is derived from the Canadian First Nations.
The neighborhood of Ekota is bordered on the north by 23 Avenue, on the east by 66 Street, and on the south and west by Mill Woods Road South.
Surrounding neigborhoods include; Menisa, Satoo, Meyokumin, Sakaw and Meyonohk.
There are two major schools in the neighbourhood. Ekota Elementary School and St. Clement Catholic School.
Shopping and entertainment are both made easy because of The Mill Woods Town Centre . Mill Woods Town Centre is located in the heart of Mill Woods. It contains numerous shops and specialty stores. There is also an ETS transit centre just outside of the mall.
