The footbridge will span 262 meters and is slated to open in 2016. As part of this project, the City of Edmonton is also creating 5 kilometers of trails to connect Terwillegar Park to the Anthony Henday Bridge and the Fort Edmonton Bridge.

Getting Around: Transit Connections Keep Downtown Within Reach

Edgemont is connected to downtown Edmonton via the 100, 101 and 103 buses, which stop along 199 Street. As the area is a fairly new development, transit hasn’t yet extended directly into the community. The closest transit stop is at the corner of 199 Street and 44 Avenue, where the 117 bus stops. These transit connections run to destinations like the West Edmonton Mall, Misericordia Community Hospital, Glastonbury Park, and Edmonton City Centre. From there, it’s possible to transfer to the LRT Capital Line and take the light rail to the Heritage Valley Town Centre and beyond.
