Rosslyn is a residential neighborhood in North West Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The neighborhood is bounded on the north by 137 Avenue, on the east by 97 Street, on the south by 132 Avenue and on the west by 113 A Street.
The neighborhood has good access to shopping services at Northgate Centre and North Town Mall. Access to other areas of the city is a breeze. Travel south along 97 Street provides direct access to the downtown core and to the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Traveling north along 97 Street provides access to CFB Edmonton.
Substantially all of the residential development in the neighborhood occurred between the end of World War II and 1980. One third of residences were put in place between 1946 and 1960, making this neighborhood one of the great older neighborhoods Edmonton is known for. The area is very stable and the population is not considered to be very mobile.
The most common type of residence in the neighborhood, according to past municipal census, is the single family dwelling. It accounts for such a large division of the neighborhoods resident, this means stable and elevated property values and higher resell values. These account for roughly three out of every four of all residences in the neighborhood. One out of five residences are rented, the rest being occupied by owners.
There are three schools in the neighborhood. The Scott Robertson Elementary School and the Rosslyn Junior High School are both operated by the Edmonton Public School System. While the very popular Choice for Change Alternative Junior/Senior High School offers a chance for students to pursue their education in a more accommodating environment to their needs.
