There of course is a vibrant art district. You can locate the art district on the east part of the commercial core. There are art galleries (the new Art Gallery of Alberta) and of course the Winspear Centre where one can listen to the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

Leaving the art district one can enjoy Churchill Square. Through out the year there are many festivals and events located in this part of downtown. After rejoicing in a festival one can head over to Edmonton City Centre. Though this city centre is a place of business, it also has a booming commercial side to it. There are new malls and the Empire Theatre which one can take advantage of.

On the southwest corner of the downtown centre core one will enter the Government Centre. This is of course where Alberta's legislative procedures take place. Some special services in this area are underground parking and an underground pedway system. All built for your enjoyment. Plus, there are major multi-million dollar plans in store for certain Federal buildings.

Jasper Avenue can be called the "main street." Jasper Avenue is not just traveled a lot, but caters to a lot of major business downtown. These businesses include the Canadian Western Bank, Scotia Place and Edmonton's tallest office buildings. Overall, Jasper Avenue is one the biggest retail, living, commercial and entertainment areas of downtown. There is also McKay Avenue, which is home to several different historical buildings, museums, and other legislative buildings. If you are in the mood for something to eat or you wish to enjoy the loving atmosphere of a café, then your next stop should be Rice Howard Way. These great avenues are by the Warehouse district. This area was developed is the past twenty years. The streets run parallel to brick buildings that hold new lofts, commercial businesses, restaurants, markets and condos. It has a very clean, modern look.

Transportation is another great gift the downtown area has to offer. Edmonton Transit System's light rail runs throughout the area. The main station is located at Churchill Square which makes commuting or enjoying the easy and lovely. The amount of travel that one can do using this clean form of transportation is unlimited to the city's potential.
