You Do the Math, Real Estate Agents and Sites are Necessary
Posted by Yoofi Gerard Hagan on Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 at 10:12am.With the way the Real Estate Industry is changing and all the talk about making the MLS® accessible to anybody & everybody, do we really need agents? Obviously my answer is bias but who cares, it's my answer...
How many potential or first time home buyers that you know of, who didn’t use the services of a real estate agent to get into their home? The fact of the matter is that millions of first time homebuyers and most buyers as well as sellers in general would prefer eliciting the services of a real estate agent in the first place.
This is a sure way of at least being guided by a professional who knows the ins and outs of the transaction process. The commission for a realtor’s services may be high but you must remember, they are there to battle in the trenches when you’re out sipping on lattes at Starbuck’s.
When last looked, the Internet was flooded with online real estate sites in which realtors and consumers alike were taking advantage of because of the implausible amount of information awarded to them, oppose to what they’re accustom to finding on other sites, we won’t mention any names.
Some real estate sites will even go as far as to explain taxes and expenses while at the same time providing its potential buyers and sellers with beautiful images and informative details for properties; not to mention providing an avenue for using social networks as well – You Do the Math!

I agree completely. When I purchased my first house I would have been lost without my agent. I would also expand that thought to renters. I would never rent from a homeowner, I would insist on using a highly thought of property management company because they can help facilitate all of the legal issues that may exist. That may be a little off topic, but that is my area of expertise.
