Dovercourt is a residential neighbourhood in Northwest Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. While the area was originally annexed by the City of Edmonton in 1913, residential development didn't occur until after the end of World War II. Most of the residences in this area – almost eight out of every ten houses – were built between World War II and 1960 during a period of major expansion. Building work was mostly completed for the rest of the area by 1970.

The most common type of residence in the neighbourhood, accounting for nine out of every ten of all residences, is the single family dwelling. These are large detached houses in their own plot of land. Each one can have a unique design and can comfortably accommodate all the members of an entire family. Another one in ten are row houses. These tend to be houses which are built side by side. They are quick to build and economical in terms of time and materials.
There are also a few duplexes in the neighbourhood. A duplex is a pair of houses which are side by side. They are usually more expensive than the row houses because they are often larger and have more land. Four out of five residences are owner occupied with only one residence in five being rented.
The neighbourhood is demarcated by 142 Street on the west and by St. Albert Trail on the east The northern side has the Yellowhead Trail, and on the south by 118 Avenue. Dovercourt Avenue passes through the neighbourhood. The Yellowhead trail is actually part of Highway 16 which is a fast flowing 4-lane freeway and seaparates north and south Alberta. While going through Edmonton it is called the Yellowhead trail and there are light controlled junctions through the main shopping centres. In the future developments will ensure that it remains free flowing with the use of flyovers and interchanges.
There are three schools in the neighbourhood. Dovercourt Elementary School is operated by the Edmonton Public School System. St. Rita Catholic School is operated by the Edmonton Catholic School System. Ross Sheppard High School is located a short distance to the south of the neighbourhood.
Residents can enjoy shopping and various forms of entertainment at the Westmount Shopping Center in the neighboring community of Woodcroft.
